CFM International was recently awarded the contract for installation and spare LEAP-1B engines by Qatar Airways, the state-owned flag carrier airline of Qatar. These engines will power the airline’s new fleet of 25 firm 737-10 aircraft announced earlier. Along with the order, a services agreement was also signed between the companies that will cover the entire fleet of 737-10 aircraft.
Qatar Airways has been a customer of CFM since 2015 and currently operates eight CFM56-powered aircraft. CFM International is a 50/50 joint company between GE and Safran Aircraft Engines.
