Boeing has announced that United Airlines is investing in its future fleet with a confirmed order for 100 Boeing 787 “Dreamliner” airplanes, with the option to purchase 100 more. The newly signed deal is the largest 787 Dreamliner order in the history of Boeing. United Airlines is also in the process of purchasing 100 Boeing 737 MAX jets, exercising 44 existing options and placing orders for 56 new jets. United Airlines’ current orders for Boeing jets have surpassed 530, including more than 430 737 MAX airplanes.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner will provide United with unparalleled efficiency and flexibility across its extensive network of domestic and international flights. The B-787 jet also offers a 25% improvement in fuel use when compared with the airplanes it replaces, depending on the configuration.
