Pentastar Aviation’s Fixed Based Operation (FBO) at Oakland County International Airport has received Stage 2 International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) safety registration (KPTK).
The IS-BAH, which went into effect on July 1, 2014, is intended to encourage the use of best practises for the industry combined with an advanced Safety Management System (SMS) for FBO and business aircraft handling agencies. Stage 1 verifies that all supporting standards have been established, the SMS infrastructure is in place, and safety management initiatives are being targeted as necessary. Stage 2 makes certain that safety risks are properly managed. Only 5% of FBOSs nationwide have Stage 2 registration as of yet.
