Lufthansa Group becomes first European Airline to receive First Movers Coalition membership

The Lufthansa Group has become the first European airline group to join the First Movers Coalition (FMC), a global initiative focused on promoting the development and deployment of sustainable aviation technologies. The FMC is led by the World Economic Forum World Economic Forum World Economic Forum World Economic Forum and the US Department of State and aims to bring together companies and countries worldwide to accelerate the adoption of sustainable technologies of the future.



By joining the FMC, the Lufthansa Group has committed to using state-of-the-art and innovative aviation fuel and propulsion technologies, with a focus on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The group has set an ambitious target of covering at least five percent of its fuel requirements with SAF by 2030, as part of its broader CO2 reduction roadmap validated by the independent Science Based Targets initiative.
