Flirtey earns another patent for drone delivery mechanism

Flirtey earns another patent for drone delivery mechanism:

29 May 2020:With over 25 patents already under their hat, the pioneers of drone delivery industry, Flirtey have added another feather in the cap. They are granted a patent for a combination of hardware and software that enables the delivery of packages by a drone, the technology lifts the package to pick it up-suspension mechanism, holds it securely- locking mechanism and lowers it at the point of delivery.

“We are thrilled that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted Flirtey another patent that is fundamental to safe and precise drone delivery. This is not pie in the sky; this is the foundation of safe delivery and/or pickup of packages from the sky,” said Matthew Sweeny, Flirtey Founder and CEO. “Flirtey’s drone delivery technology is now an industry standard in America”.

The working of a Flirtey drone:

The contents of the drone are delivered by lowering a tether as the drone is suspended in the air. As the package is delivered it retracts the tether. This method is found to be the safest in drone technology and is a standard for package delivery.

Just earlier this year, they were granted a patent for enhancing the intellectual technology with an additional component to safety while a drone is in flight and when it is delivering a package. It recognises a drone’s technology to detect an error in operation when the drone is in flight. It also deploys a safety mechanism thereby avoiding the risk of injury to bystanders.
