Crisis unites Pratt:
Crisis unites Pratt & Whitney Training Centres through shared experience
13 May 2020: All the airlines, OEMs, MROs, airports are striving hard to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic and find out ways and means for going ahead amidst this crisis. Pratt and Whitney customer training centres in India, US and China are finding newer and innovative ways to deliver highest quality training experience even through the pandemic.

Appreciating the nature of the work at the different training centres Zonda Feulner, director of Customer Training said, "This crisis has unified the Pratt & Whitney Customer Training Centres through shared experience. The collaboration and innovation by the team has led to amazing results and really highlights what we can accomplish when we all work together."

Apart from remote training courses, these centres also offer theory-based engine maintenance and familiarization courses. Besides this, they also have tailored remote courses for their employees to learn different aspects of Pratt & Whitney's commercial engines business like marketing, leasing and campaign analysis. These courses will now be extended to engine maintenance and engineering for external students starting 1st June 2020.

Feulner further added, "This was an opportunity for us to create instructor-led courses that our employees and customers can take remotely. As always, we're working diligently to find the safest and most effective ways to provide training to our customers."

The training centre at China opened in early April and has already delivered three in-person GTF engine courses keeping in focus stringent measures like social distancing and use of PPE kits. The course focussed on retrofitting the main gearbox of the GTF for members of the Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corporation and Chinese airline Qingdao.

Matt Stoner, vice president of Customer Support said, "Our airline customers, employees and their communities in China have been through a challenging time since January, yet our support continued, as demonstrated by the CCTC team. I hope others see the reopening of the CCTC as a symbol of optimism."

The courses offered at different CTCs are flexible as per the customers working hours and needs. The topics are adjusted as per the demands of a particular group.
