Airbus has announced an additional order for an A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT), from the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) which will increase the Multinational MRTT Fleet (MMF) to ten aircraft. The announcement follows Belgium’s decision to increase its participation in the programme by adding 1,100 flight hours per year.
The MMF provides strategic transport, air-to-air refuelling, and medical evacuation capabilities to its six participating nations: Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, and Norway. The participating nations share costs proportionally according to their national commitment to flight hours per year, as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding.
