Pratt & Whitney, a division of RTX, has unveiled the introduction of Percept, a cutting-edge AI-powered Aircraft Engine Analysis Tool. This innovative product utilizes computer vision technology and operates on the Awiros Video Intelligence Operating System (OS). By leveraging a cloud-based interface, Percept empowers users to capture images and videos of aircraft engines using their mobile devices, receiving instant real-time feedback on parts availability. This breakthrough feature facilitates a quicker and more cost-effective turnaround of leased engine assets. Gone are the days of manual inspections, as Percept automates the process, reducing inspection time by nearly 90%.
Awiros emerged victorious in the prestigious RTX Innovation Challenge. Launched in September 2019, the challenge attracted more than 60 startups from both India and around the globe specializing in the domains of Computer Vision, AI, and Machine Learning (ML). The participating teams presented their solutions to optimize and automate aircraft engine inspections, aiming to minimize human involvement. Awiros’ groundbreaking concept underwent thorough evaluation throughout 2020-21 and is set to be commercially available later this year.
