Embraer of Brazil and Nidec Corporation of Japan have announced a groundbreaking joint venture called Nidec Aerospace LLC. The collaboration aims to develop Electric Propulsion Systems for the aerospace sector, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of air mobility. The joint venture will be officially unveiled at the 54th biennial Paris Air Show and will initially focus on supporting the growth of the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) industry.
Nidec, a global leader in motor manufacturing, will combine forces with Embraer, drawing on the latter’s more than 50 years of aerospace expertise, to design, certify, produce, and commercialize next-generation electric propulsion systems. These systems will incorporate proven technologies that enable the operation of more efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft models.
