May 14, 2018:Taking note of the space constraints at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has reportedly urged Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu to set up a new airport on outskirts of the city.
In a letter to Prabhu, Pradhan has stressed on the rapid increase in flow of passengers in both domestic and international flights. In addition to an airport, Pradhan has also requested on setting up a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) unit adjacent to the existing airport.
