May 16, 2018: LOT Aircraft Maintenance Services (LOTAMS) recently opened its first permanent foreign maintenance base capable of offering a full range of line maintenance services. Budapest base is an equipped and organised foreign branch that will provide comprehensive services to the airlines. First line maintenance at mentioned site was carried out on one of the most modern aircraft - Boeing 787 Dreamliner of LOT Polish Airlines.
The first foreign maintenance base of LOTAMS commenced operations early in May this year. Organisational activities started at the beginning of October 2017. Preparation of a foreign service facility is demanding not only in terms of organisation, but it is also a process requiring many business and legal arrangements. LOTAMS cooperates with the local technical organisation - Aeroplex, which if required supports LOTAMS in case of a non-standard maintenance activities.
