19 July, 2018: GKN Fokker Elmo has signed an MOU with the State of Maharashtra in India for investment in a second manufacturing facility for wiring interconnection systems in the country.
The new site, a fully owned GKN Aerospace business, is located in Pune, the second largest city in Maharashtra, after Mumbai in the state Maharashtra and is scheduled to come online in the fourth quarter of this year. Production will start in the first quarter of 2019, the workforce is expected to grow to 800 in 2027.
