30 June, 2018:The Board of Directors of RUAG confirmed the appointment of Dirk Prehn as the new CEO of RUAG Aerostructures and Chairman of the Management Board of RUAG Aerospace Structures GmbH. Dirk Prehn will become a member of the RUAG Group Executive Board succeeding Alexander Toussaint who is leaving the company at his own request.
In his previous function, Dirk Prehn was already a member of the Management Board of the RUAG Aerostructures division. He will head the division and assume the role of Chairman of the management board of RUAG Aerospace Structures GmbH, which employs 1,250 people and has production facilities in Oberpfaffenhofen (Germany), Emmen (Switzerland) and Eger (Hungary).
Dirk Prehn has worked as SVP and Head Programs & Sales for RUAG Aerostructures since 2015. Before joining RUAG, he was Vice President Sales & Marketing at Premium Aerotec GmbH, an Airbus subsidiary headquartered in Augsburg, Germany. Prior to that, he worked as Head of Program Management at EADS – Military Air Systems (now the Airbus Group) at its Augsburg location and was responsible for all new programmes. Dirk Prehn is a qualified mechanical engineer and has close to 20 years of experience in the Aerospace and Defence industry. RUAG Aerostructures’ responsibilities include the complete worldwide supply chains for the fuselage sections for Airbus and Bombardier. The division is focusing on reinforcing and expanding on its position as a global first-tier supplier, with the aim of achieving profitable growth.
