1 February, 2019: The new US Air Force advanced pilot trainer from Boeing and Saab will be provided with an ACES 5 ejection seat from Collins Aerospace, a unit of United Technologies.

The ACES 5 ejection seat will provide protection to the head and the neck. It would prevent the arms and legs from flailing and it is equipped with a load-compensating catapult rocket that varies its thrust based on the occupant’s weight.

The fully integrated landing gear system that will be provided by Collins for the aircrafts will include structure, actuation, dressings, hydraulics, and wheels and brakes. There are several technological innovation that the system boasts, It is designed to help reduce maintenance costs while enhancing operational performance.
