Boeing, an aerospace company and manufacturer of commercial jetliners announced the delivery of the first 787 Dreamliner, a 787-9, to Lufthansa Group, Europe’s largest airline group. The aircraft was received by the Lufthansa Group at the Paine Field Airport in Washington DC, U.S.
The Lufthansa Group has placed 32 firm orders for the 787 Dreamliner jet and with the order has joined nearly 50 customers worldwide in operating the aircraft. The787 Dreamliner, according to the manufacturer, is the aviation industry’s most fuel-efficient and capable airplane.
Boeing designed the 787 family with an aim to have superior efficiency, which would allow the airlines to open new routes with profitability and fly people directly to their desired destinations in exceptional comfort. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner consumes 25% less fuel meanwhile creating 25% fewer emissions than the airplanes they are supposed to replace across the globe. The 787 family has avoided more than 125 billion pounds of carbon emissions in the environment since entering service in 2011.
