Boeing, the global aerospace company, has announced the appointment of Henok Teferra Shawl as the new Managing Director for Boeing Africa. The move is part of Boeing’s strategic efforts to enhance its operations and relationships across the African continent. Based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Teferra Shawl will report to Kuljit Ghata-Aura, President of Boeing Middle East, Türkiye, Africa, and Central Asia (METACA).
Teferra Shawl, an accomplished professional with a notable career in aviation, regulatory affairs, and government relations, is expected to be a key figure in steering Boeing’s continued success in Africa. His previous roles include Vice President of Strategic Planning and Alliances at Ethiopian Airlines, Chief Operating Officer and Board Member of ASKY Airlines, and serving as the Ambassador of Ethiopia to France, Spain, Portugal, Monaco, and the Holy See. Before joining Boeing, Teferra Shawl held the position of Chief External Affairs and Regulatory Officer at Safaricom Telecommunication Ethiopia.
