Sheltair, a family-owned aviation company, has initiated a significant expansion of its existing hangar facilities at the Kissimmee Gateway Airport (KISM) in response to the growing demand for aircraft storage. This expansion, part of the Phase IV development, underscores Sheltair’s commitment to Kissimmee and aims to contribute to the economic growth of the airport and the local community. Sheltair is embarking on a multi-million-dollar project spanning 2.70 acres to construct three new hangars at Kissimmee Gateway Airport. These will include nine oversized t-hangars, offering a total space of 17,622 square feet, and ten box hangars, measuring 50ft x 50ft each, with a combined square footage of 25,000.
The expansion is a response to the increasing demand for aircraft storage facilities at KISM. Sheltair, which has been managing approximately 115,973 square feet of hangar space at the airport since 2001, aims to address the needs of the aviation community in the region. The new hangars will be equipped with hydraulic doors designed to meet the modern needs of pilots. This reflects Sheltair’s commitment to innovation and ensuring that its facilities align with the evolving requirements of the aviation industry.
