Ryanair signs contract to fly all Amsterdam flights with SAF blend

Ryanair, the largest airline in Europe, has announced an expansion of its partnership with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supplier Neste. The airline will power its full schedule of flights at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with a 40% SAF blend starting from 1 April, a significant increase from the previous usage on a third of flights. This development marks another milestone for Ryanair’s target of operating 12.5% of its flights with SAF by 2030 and supports the company’s Pathway to Net Zero by 2050 decarbonization goals, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 32%.

SAF is a clean and sustainable alternative to traditional fossil fuels, made from renewable sources such as cooking oil, agricultural waste, and forestry residue. It offers a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of up to 80% compared to fossil fuels, making it an effective way to tackle aviation’s carbon footprint.
