Airbus conducts Preliminary Design Review for Eurodrone program

The Airbus Eurodrone programme has achieved a milestone by successfully completing the Preliminary Design Review (PDR). Led by Airbus Defence and Space as the prime contractor, this accomplishment involved collaboration with the Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation (OCCAR) and representatives from the four customer nations: France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. Major Sub-Contractors Airbus Defence and Space Spain, Dassault Aviation, and Leonardo were also present during this crucial phase.

The PDR confirms that the initial design of the Eurodrone has matured sufficiently, allowing the project to advance to the detailed design phase. This milestone results from various technical assessments and evaluations, including Wind Tunnel Testing to validate the aerodynamic configuration and the overall design to ensure operational capability. Additionally, the creation and validation of a fully representative Digital Twin played a key role. The Eurodrone programme integrates both physical and digital design philosophies from the outset.
