GA-ASI Lands $94.8M Contract for AI Smart Sensor Development

 General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) has secured a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract valued at $94,808,020 to conduct research, development, testing, and evaluation activities focused on Autonomy and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the Smart Sensor Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) prototype. This contract, awarded by the Army Contracting Command, is projected for completion by March 31, 2026.

The Chief Digital AI Office (CDAO) has developed the Smart Sensor System to create a platform-agnostic AI and autonomy system. This system facilitates autonomous surveillance and reconnaissance operations in challenging environments, with interoperability capabilities to communicate seamlessly with diverse platforms.
