Safran to support DRF Luftrettung’s Arriel 2E engines

Safran Helicopter Engines announced a significant support-by-the-hour contract with DRF Luftrettung for the engines which power its Airbus Helicopter H145 helicopter fleet. This full service SBH contract includes in-service support and MRO services for more than 90 Arriel 2E engines and makes DRF Luftrettung one of the largest users of the Arriel engine in Europe. The management of this contract is held under the responsibility of Safran Helicopter Engines Germany, based in Hamburg. The management and support of 300 helicopter operators in Germany, Northern Europe, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia and the fleet of 2,000 engines are managed and supported by this division.

The maintenance-by-the-hour service, SBH, of Safran Helicopter Engines, is designed for transparency of operating costs for engines and makes it easier to manage all financial needs while increasing flexibility in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance operations. The SBH service also supports a series of high-value digital services: Health Monitoring, Expert Link, and Online SBH. As of today, 50% of the engine flight hours of Safran Helicopter Engines are under the SBH service.
