JetBlue, New York’s Hometown Airline has appointed Michael Erbeck as its new vice president of safety. Erbeck, who has almost 30 years of experience in aviation, will lead JetBlue’s safety office, overseeing the safe operations of the airline’s more than 1,000 daily flights across its growing network in the Americas, U.K., and Europe. He will also work on the airline’s long-term safety strategy to identify and minimize safety risks to company operations.
Michael Erbeck will oversee safety-related programs including occupational health, safety awareness, and safety and environmental compliance programs, to promote a robust safety culture. He will also serve as the primary liaison between JetBlue and regulators including the FAA, NTSB, and OSHA, on matters of safety and compliance.
