AAR CORP., a leading provider of aviation services to commercial and government operators, has received approval from the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners to proceed with the construction of a new facility at Miami International Airport. The 114,000-square-foot hangar will be constructed adjacent to AAR’s existing hangar and is expected to increase the company’s capacity at its Miami Airframe MRO by 33%. The project represents a significant expansion for AAR in Miami and is set to create more than 250 new job opportunities in the area.
The approval from the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is a crucial milestone for AAR’s expansion plans. The company plans to break ground on the new facility in the second quarter of its fiscal year 2024 and aims to complete construction within 24 months. The anticipated cost of constructing the hangar is around $50 million, and over time, Miami-Dade County is expected to reimburse this cost, further supporting AAR’s investment in the region.
