24 April 2020: In the latest achievement, the Airbus A330-800 has been approved of the Extended-range Twin-engine Operations or ETOPS "beyond 180 minutes" diversion time by EASA. This will maximise the aircraft exceptional transpacific range capability of up to 8,150nm. It also extends the potential air diversion distance to around 2,000nm. After EASA, FAA certification is to be followed soon.
