Air India announces latest leadership appointments

 Air India has appointed Capt Klaus Goersch as its Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, overseeing Flight Operations, Engineering, Ground Operations, Integrated Operations Control, and Cabin Crew functions. Capt Goersch, a licensed B777/787 pilot, has held similar positions at British Airways and Air Canada. Incumbent Chief of Operations Capt RS Sandhu will transition to an advisory role, focusing on harmonizing operating procedures, the Airbus A350 entry-into-service program, and helping establish Air India’s new Training Academy.


Additional senior appointments were announced, including Capt Manish Uppal as Senior Vice President Flight Operations, and Capt Henry Donohoe, whose Corporate Safety, Security, and Quality role will expand to include Emergency Response, becoming Senior Vice President Safety, Security, and Quality. Pankaj Handa will lead Ground Operations, Choorah Singh will be the Divisional Vice President Integrated Operations Control, and JuLi Ng will be the Divisional Vice President Cabin Crew, all reporting to Capt Goersch. The Inflight Product & Service Design functions, headed by Sandeep Verma, will move to Rajesh Dogra’s Customer Experience portfolio.
