airBaltic, the Latvian national airline, on September 2, 2023, celebrated the arrival of its 43rd Airbus A220-300 aircraft, registered as YL-ABR, at Riga Airport. This marks the fourth delivery of an Airbus A220-300 to airBaltic in 2023, as part of the airline’s order for a total of 50 Airbus A220-300 aircraft. Additionally, airBaltic holds options and purchase rights for an additional 30 aircraft of the same type. Since the introduction of the Airbus A220-300 to its fleet, airBaltic has served nearly 13,000,000 passengers, with its A220-300s completing close to 143,000 flights and accumulating over 311,000 block hours of flight time.
Since May 2020, airBaltic has exclusively operated flights with the Airbus A220-300, streamlining its fleet to improve efficiency and simplify operations. The A220-300 has exceeded airBaltic’s expectations, offering outstanding performance, fuel efficiency, and a superior experience for both passengers and crew members.
