Elbit Systems Ltd. has successfully delivered an advanced self-protection suite to the Royal Netherlands Air Force’s (RNLAF) Gulfstream G-650ER VIP Aircraft. The rapid delivery, completed within a year of signing the contract, followed comprehensive flight acceptance tests that demonstrated the system’s effectiveness. The flight acceptance tests involved rigorous evaluations conducted over several flights, all of which met the customer’s requirements and received their full satisfaction.
The equipped aircraft features an advanced protective suite, including Elbit Systems’ Direct Infra-Red Counter Measures (DIRCM) and Infra-Red-based Passive Airborne Warning System (IR MWS). This configuration has been granted an EASA supplemental type certificate (STC). This project aligns with similar endeavors worldwide, such as NATO’s Airbus MRTT A330 refueling fleet project, of which the Netherlands is a participating member, and where a similar protection system has been installed.
