Embraer secures type certification for E190-E2 and E195-E2 jets from Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia

Embraer’s E-Jets E2 family of commercial jets, including the E190-E2 and E195-E2, has achieved a significant milestone with the Type Certification granted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM). This certification comes after SKS Airways, a Malaysian carrier, selected 10 E195-E2s at LIMA’23 to support its growth plans in the region. Prior to receiving CAAM’s certification, the E190-E2 and E195-E2 had already been certified by three prominent civil aviation authorities: the FAA (USA), EASA (Europe), and ANAC (Brazil) in 2018 and 2019.

Embraer conducted a recent network analysis in Malaysia, identifying substantial opportunities for airlines in the country to establish up to 120 new routes within Malaysia and the ASEAN region by leveraging the latest technology regional jets like the E2. These advanced jets offer the greatest fuel burn reductions and lowest costs, making it possible to operate new routes profitably. Embraer has a strong presence in the Asia Pacific region, with close to 20 operators collectively utilizing approximately 200 E-Jets.
