GA-ASI’s fleet of Unmanned Aerial vehicles completes 8 million flight hours

 General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) has reached a significant milestone as its family of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) surpasses eight million flight hours. The company’s UAS portfolio includes renowned platforms such as Predator, Reaper, Gray Eagle, Avenger, and MQ-9B SkyGuardian/SeaGuardian, which have collectively completed 566,000 missions in nearly 40 countries worldwide.


Among the notable achievements contributing to the milestone is the MQ-9B SkyGuardian/SeaGuardian line, with 13 aircraft accumulating over 4,000 flight hours. This includes the latest Protector RG Mk1 variant, currently being delivered to the United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force. The initial three Protectors are undergoing Integrated Test, Evaluation, and Acceptance trials. Additionally, MQ-9Bs are in operation with the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) and Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF), as well as supporting various U.S. Navy exercises.
