MTU Maintenance to support LEAP-1A engines SriLankan Airlines’ Airbus fleet

MTU Maintenance has entered into a significant five-year maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) agreement with SriLankan Airlines for their CFM International LEAP-1A engines. This collaboration builds upon their existing partnership, which has previously included V2500 engines and leasing support. SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier operating a fleet of 22 Airbus A330 and A320/A321 aircraft, has expressed confidence in MTU Maintenance’s technical expertise. The airline, conducting flights across South Asia, Europe, the Far East, and the Middle East, anticipates fast, reliable, and cost-efficient support from MTU Maintenance as it continues to expand its fleet.

The agreement underscores the enduring partnership between the two entities and emphasizes MTU Maintenance’s commitment to providing top-notch MRO services. MTU Aero Engines’ Chief Program Officer, Michael Schreyögg, highlighted the company’s pioneering role in adding independent LEAP capabilities. He affirmed their dedication to delivering safe, reliable, and expert MRO services to SriLankan Airlines as they integrate new-generation engines into their fleet.
