Xiamen Airlines strengthens fleet with forty CFM LEAP-1A engines powered Airbus jets

A deal was signed today by Xiamen Airlines and CFM International to buy LEAP-1A engines, along with spares, for the airline’s 15 A321neo and 25 A320neo aircraft. Additionally, a services contract for the carrier’s LEAP-1B and CFM56-7B fleets was signed by CFM International. Since Xiamen Airlines bought its first CFM56-powered Boeing 737-500 aircraft in 1992, the airline has been a CFM customer. CFM has been offering Xiamen Airlines installed and spare engines, together with servicing solutions, for the last thirty years. Currently, the airline has over 150 CFM-powered aircraft in service or on order.  Earlier in the year, Xiamen unveiled the first A321neo powered by LEAP-1A.

Dong Zhao, chairman of Xiamen Airlines said, “We have long-standing relationship with CFM and 100% of our fleet is powered by CFM and GE engines.
