Flexjet, the fractional ownership firm has taken a strategic step to bolster its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities by acquiring Canadian MRO company Flying Colours. This acquisitP\on comes on the heels of Flexjet’s earlier purchase of Constant Aviation, a Cleveland-based MRO specialist renowned for its engine, airframe, and avionics services. Flying Colours, a stalwart in business jet maintenance, cabin overhauls, and completions, boasts a distinguished 40-year history in the aviation industry. The company operates from two key locations: Peterborough, Ontario, and St. Louis, Missouri.
Kenn Ricci, Chairman of emphasized that Flexjet has been a long-standing customer of Flying Colours. He emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition. By integrating Flying Colours into its MRO network, Flexjet aims to heighten service quality and bolster aircraft availability for its fractional owners. This strategic move enables Flexjet to exert more control over its maintenance and product support operations, a clear differentiator in an industry often reliant on third-party MRO providers.
