CAE partners with Volotea for new Multi-Crew Pilot License cadet pilot training:

18 November 2019:Replacing the existing Airline Transport License (ATPL) pilot training program, CAE announced a new multi-crew pilot license (MPL) cadet pilot training program in partnership with Volotea

This new MPL program will provide the aspiring cadets an integrated and seamless transition to the position of First Officer with Volotea on Airbus A320. By providing more training hours in an Airbus A320 full flight simulator (FFS) the MPL program will prepare the candidates for highest level of competency and proficiency for their future role.

"Our growth plans require access to highly qualified and well-trained pilots. Our collaboration with CAE on the creation of this bespoke MPL program will allow us to further standardize the training of our future pilots," said Xavier Bueno, Volotea MPL Coordinator. "Furthermore, the rigour of MPL training guarantees better adaptation to our standard operating procedures and a better fit overall with company culture."

"CAE has led the industry in the creation of competency-based MPL programs for over 10 years, and we are proud to be supporting Volotea in this evolution of its cadet training footprint."

The training for Volotea MPL career program will start from the spring of 2020 with European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) theoretical knowledge instruction (TKI) at CAE Madrid. After doing flight training at one of CAE's global flight training locations, the pilots will complete their Basic, Intermediate and Advanced phases of the program at CAE Barcelona. Once the training is complete, the next batch of Volotea co-pilots will be ready.

CAE had provided Volotea with pilot, cabin crew recruitment and training including Volotea First Officer Program since the launch of the airline in 2012.
