#safetyfirst-Boeing extends temporary suspension at Puget Sound facility
6 April 2020:Considering the current scenario surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and in light of health and safety of employees, Boeing has decided to extend the temporary suspension of Puget Sound Production Operations and Moses Lake area until further notice.

The Puget Sound Production Operations were halted on 25th March following a 14-day temporary suspension. But looking at the situation in Washington, Boeing has decided to further extend the suspension of operations.

However, during the temporary suspension measures like new visual cues to encourage physical distancing, more frequent and thorough cleaning of work and common areas and staggering shift times to reduce the flow of employees arriving and departing work will continue to be implemented.

"The health and safety of our employees, their families and our communities is our shared priority," said Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Stan Deal. "We will take this time to continue to listen to our incredible team and assess applicable government direction, the spread of the coronavirus in the community and the reliability of our suppliers to ensure we are ready for a safe and orderly return to operations."

On the other hand, the volunteers who support essential site and service work are supposed to continue to report to the assigned shifts.
