Eve Air Mobility selects KAI as key supplier for eVTOL Pylons

Eve Air Mobility recently made an exciting announcement. They’ve teamed up with Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd. (KAI) as a supplier for important parts of their electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. These parts, called pylons, play a crucial role in supporting the aircraft’s electric power units and lift propellers. KAI brings a wealth of experience to the table, with over 30 years of expertise in supplying major aerostructure components to aircraft manufacturers worldwide. This partnership with Eve marks KAI’s formal entry into the advanced air mobility (AAM) market, in line with their CEO Goo Young Kang’s strategic vision to focus on future air mobility as a core business area.

Eve’s eVTOL aircraft follows a lift+cruise configuration, featuring eight dedicated propellers for vertical flight and fixed wings for cruising. This design offers several advantages, including reduced operational costs, optimized structures, and efficient thrust with minimal noise. Additionally, the aircraft includes an electric pusher powered by dual electric motors, ensuring redundancy in propulsion for enhanced performance and safety.
