Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group has taken a significant step towards sustainability by signing an agreement with Neste to purchase 1,000 tonnes of Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This move positions SIA and Scoot as the first airlines in the group to receive SAF produced at Neste’s refinery in Singapore Changi Airport. This partnership between Singapore Airlines and Neste represents a significant stride towards sustainable aviation, showcasing the aviation industry’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and embracing renewable fuel solutions.
Neste, a leading producer of renewable fuels, will blend the SAF with conventional jet fuel and deliver it to Changi Airport’s fuel hydrant system in two batches – one in the second quarter of 2024 and another in the fourth quarter of the same year. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first direct supply of Neste’s SAF to airlines at Changi Airport, showcasing their end-to-end SAF supply chain capabilities in Singapore.
