Wizz Air welcomes Airbus A231neo in its fold:
7 March, 2019: Wizz Air took the delivery of its first 184 Airbus A321 neo aircraft in an event in Hamburg. József Váradi, CEO Wizz Air and Christian Scherer, Airbus Chief Commercial Officer inaugurated the happy occassion by cutting the ribbon.
Powered by two Pratt and Whitney engines and widest single aisle cabin, the A320’s are the world’s best-selling single aisle aircraft with over 6,500 orders from over 100 customers since its launch in 2010. With 239 seats in a single class configuration, it offers the operators maximum flexibility, fuel efficiency and low operating costs. They also offer nearly 50 per cent reduction in noise footprint compared to previous generation aircraft.
Wizz Air, the largest Central and Eastern European low cost carrier, is an all Airbus operator, with more than 100 A320 Family aircraft operating all around Europe and with 261 aircraft to be delivered.
With this latest order of 184 A321neo aircraft, Wizz Air will be the largest Airbus customer worldwide.
