CFM to supply 80 LEAP-1B engines for Avolon’s upcoming fleet of 40 Boeing 737 MAX family jets

 CFM International, a leading aircraft engine manufacturer, has teamed up with Avolon, an international aircraft leasing company, to supply 80 CFM International LEAP-1B engines for Avolon’s recent order of 40 Boeing 737 MAX family aircraft. The delivery of these new aircraft is scheduled between 2027 and 2030. Avolon has been a CFM customer since its inception in 2010 and currently has over 400 CFM-powered aircraft in its portfolio. This collaboration further solidifies their partnership and underscores Avolon’s commitment to incorporating advanced technology and fuel-efficient aircraft into its fleet.


The LEAP engine family, known for its advanced features, has achieved remarkable milestones in commercial aviation. With more than 33 million engine flight hours and 15 million flight cycles, it holds the record for the fastest accumulations of flight hours. Since its introduction, the LEAP-1B engine has amassed over 10.5 million flight hours and 4 million cycles.
