Turkish Airlines recently engaged in discussions with Airbus regarding a potential order of 355 new aircraft. The meeting, held in Istanbul, involved Turkish Airlines officials exploring the acquisition of 75 wide-body A350-900 and 15 wide-body A350-1000 aircraft, along with 250 narrow-body A321neo aircraft and five A350F cargo aircraft. Additionally, there were discussions about ten A350-900s for which terms have already been established. If an agreement is reached, this order would mark the largest in the airline’s history.
Earlier in May, Turkish Airlines Chairman Ahmet Bolat had expressed plans to order a total of 600 new aircraft in June, to be delivered within the next decade. Some of the order would be optional, contingent on a government decision expected in two months, he noted in June.
