16 July 2019: Thomas Global Systems has obtained FAA Technical Standard Order (TSO) authorisation and Supplemental Type Certification (STC) approval for its TFD-7000 Series plug-and-play LCD flight displays for Boeing 757 and Boeing 767 CRT-equipped aircraft.
Thomas Global can manufacture and deliver the TFD-7000 Series LCD solution to Boeing 757/767 operators with the help of the approvals, starting with industry leader Delta Air Lines. Delta chose the TFD-7000 Series LCD solution to retrofit their Boeing 757 and Boeing 767 aircraft in late 2018.
A TFD-7000 Series display has a lighter, more dependable, and lower lifecycle cost replacement for legacy CRTs, with additional functionality and capacity for the emerging airspace requirements. It's inventive plug-and-play design permits cost-effective installation on overnights or at the gate, with no flight or maintenance crew retraining necessary.
