IAI to begin operations in Siauliai Airport along with Aviatic MRO





19 December 2019: With an eye on expanding globally, IAI is planning to join hands with Aviatic MRO to begin operations in Siauliai International Airport at Lithuania.

%u0160iauliai International Airport has the longest runway in the Baltic States and capacity to handle multiple aircraft of all sizes, automatically stands out as a European site for expanding global operations.

Refael Matalon VP & GM Marketing of IAI said: "Siauliai International Airport is strategically located and offers excellent infrastructure, a large space, and the ability to provide services twenty-four seven. This is why we are actively considering the opportunity to expand into Lithuania."

In order to develop Siauliai Airport as major European hub for maintenance, repairs and operations, local government in Siauliai has pledged to support the airport's expansion

"The fact that established companies such as IAI are considering investing in Siauliai International Airport is a massive vote of confidence. We are certain that our airport can provide the necessary infrastructure to ensure the successful expansion of aviation services", said Art%u016Bras Visockas, Mayor of %u0160iauliai.

Currently several airlines are flown long distances for MRO services. Therefore development of Lithuania as a competitive alternative within the European Union and close to major aviation hubs is a significant development.
