Japan Transocean Air signed 15-year engine maintenance deal with ST Engineering:


29 November 2019:   Japan Transocean Air, a subsidiary of Japan Airlines Group has signed a 15-year engine Maintenance-By-the-Hour (MBHTM) deal with ST Engineering.

The terms of this agreement include providing an integrated suite of engine MRO solutions that include off-wing maintenance support, on-wing services and technical support to the airline's Boeing 737NG fleet. The contract stretches for a time-line of 15 years starting from 2020 at ST Engineering's MRO facilities in Singapore.

Mr Noriyuki Aoki, President of Japan Transocean Air, said, "We believe this customised MBH programme will bring even greater value-add to our business through stability in engine operations in order to provide the highest possible standards in reliability and on-time performance for our customers. Furthermore, it provides us leverage through maintenance cost optimisation and cost control benefits, while enhancing the long-term partnership between Japan Airlines Group and ST Engineering."
