12 April, 2019: Northrop Grumman Corporation has received a multi-year contract modification to deliver an additional 24 E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft to the US Navy. The contract is worth $3.2 billion and includes an option for nine additional foreign military sales aircraft. The five-year contract which includes the production of the 24 US Navy aircraft is expected to be complete in 2026.
Northrop Grumman has delivered 37 E-2D to the US Navy under the current programme. Northrop Grumman will also deliver a series of capability upgrades along with production and sustainment of the E-2D. The third upgrade is scheduled for release in fall 2019 and consists of an aerial refuelling capability to significantly extend the aircraft's endurance.
