8 April, 2019:Uganda Airlines has signed a memorandum of understanding for two A330-800 airliners which are the latest version of the most popular A330 widebody airliner. The aircraft will bring a wide variety of benefits to Uganda Airlines and its customers. It is fitted with the new Airspace by Airbus cabin which is the most modern cabin available today.
The A330-800 will be used by Uganda Airlines to build its medium and long-haul network as the aircraft offers cutting-edge technology along with more efficient operations
The A330neo family is the new generation A330 which was launched in July 2014. It has two versions, the A330-800 and A330-900 sharing 99 per cent commonality. The aircraft reduces fuel consumption by about 25 per cent per seat when compared to previous generation competitors and increase range by up to 1,500 nm compared to the majority of A330s in operation. The A330neo is equipped with Rolls-Royce's latest-generation Trent 7000 engines and it also has a state-of-the-art passenger inflight entertainment and Wifi connectivity systems, amongst others.
