Surinam Airways, AFI KLM E&M sign Boeing 737NG component support deal

10 April, 2019: AFI KLM E&M has signed a component support contract with Surinam Airways, the national flag carrier of the Republic of Suriname covering its Boeing 737-700 fleet. The contract covers the two aircraft currently operated by Surinam Airways, along with a third, scheduled to join the carrier's fleet in 2020. It covers repairs, pool access and supply of a Main Base Kit (MBK), delivered under the 737NG Component Services Programme (CSP) jointly operated by AFI KLM E&M and Boeing.

Designed initially to meet the component support requirements of Boeing 737NGs, the CSP program operated by Boeing and AFI KLM E&M has since been extended to the 737 MAX. The programme is structured around attractive solutions designed to reduce component inventory, storage and repair costs for operators while maximising availability. By combining the expertise of a world leader for aircraft maintenance services and that of a world-class aircraft manufacturer, the programme offers its customers a portfolio of very high quality, economically competitive, services. Surinam Airways, which has worked with AFI KLM E&M for many years, decided to opt for this solution to achieve optimal support for the operational launch of its first two 737NGs, which joined the fleet in 2018.

Gerard Lau, Surinam Airways CEO, said, "The CSP programme, which combines the know-how and exacting standards of a reputed MRO, the quality of whose services is well-known to us, and a major aircraft maker, is a guarantee of reliable support and high quality. We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with AFI KLM E&M, a privileged partner for Surinam Airways, as we go forward with our fleet renewal programme."

"Surinam Airways is a long-standing customer of AFI KLM E&M, and we are overjoyed to be able to support them during the renewal of their fleet by delivering the best possible support for their 737NGs," said Fabrice Defrance, Senior Vice President Commercial AFI KLM E&M.

Edward Persaud, Sales Manager at AFI KLM E&M, added, "We are pleased that Surinam Airways renewed its trust in us and is relying on our services for this new adventure. And we are committed to continuing to support this long-standing customer with top-class service, as part of a strong partnership between our companies."
