14 May 2019: Alaska Airlines and EL AL Israel Airlines have expanded their commercial relationship to include a reciprocal frequent flyer agreement. The contract was signed by CEO's of both the airline at a ceremony which was attended by San Francisco Bay Area dignitaries and civic leaders.
The partnership between the EL AL and Alaska Airlines will help the customers to continue their journey to and from North America and Israel with connections on both airlines, in either direction.
Both the airlines will give their members an opportunity to earn miles while flying with the partner airline. Also, base miles flown on EL AL will count toward elite status in Alaska's Mileage Plan programme. EL AL travellers would also be able to redeem their EL AL Matmid miles to book on Alaska flights in the future.
