19 February, 2019: Japan Airlines (JAL), the flag carrier airline of Japan has signed the Flight Hour Services (FHS) contract. Airbus will provide its FHS Components Services programme to JAL for its new fleet of 31 A350-900 and A350-1000 aircraft.

The contract confirms the growing success of Airbus’ Flight Hour Services business in Japan.

JAL, the first Airbus FHS A350 operator in Japan will benefit tremendously from the increased operational reliability provided by Airbus FHS, the world leader for this service in the A350 market.

From September, the Japanese airline plans to introduce its highly anticipated A350-900 on the Haneda - Fukuoka route. JAL’s A350 will get a smooth entry to one of Japan’s busiest routes with the help of the FHS contract.

A fully integrated component service including spare pool access, on-site-stock replenishment at the main base and components repair will be provided by the Airbus FHS. The airlines will also have the advantage of Airbus’ OEM expertise, its expertise in fully integrated maintenance services as well as one single interface to manage their whole fleets and associated component support operations through the FHS.
