Aircraft Maintenance Services Australia rebrands to Heston MRO

19 February, 2019:Aircraft Maintenance Services Australia Pty Ltd (AMSA), an MRO organisation headquartered in Brisbane has been rebranded to Heston MRO. This is the first step on the strategic direction to create a strong independent Total Care MRO player in Australasia, a regional alternative to global MRO brands.

After the acquisition of AMSA from previous airline owners, a truly independent MRO organisation has been created with its presence in all major Australian airports like Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, etc.

As Heston MRO has warehouses in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, it will be helpful for them to launch their local components trading, exchange, repair management, and leasing business in H1 2019. This will be followed by Engine Management and on-wing services offering for airlines, leasing companies, and OEMs in the Australasian region. The development up to the light hangar maintenance will be considered as the next stage of growth.

“We are excited to start this journey in Australia, developing a customer-driven third-party MRO organisation in the region. Airlines, Asset Owners, and OEMs deserve an efficient, dynamic, customer focused local partner, which understands the true meaning of quality service, and challenges the historical status quo,” said Jonas Butautis, Partner of Heston Aviation, owner of Heston MRO. “Our aim is to position Heston MRO as a true Total Care partner for small to mid-size airlines in the region. For larger operators, we will be a flexible and dynamic third-party solution for selected MRO products, which will drive efficiencies in their internal technical organisations. We also see OEMs and leasing companies as customer pool, who need a local partner on the ground in Australia.”

“Heston MRO is aiming to fill the obvious gaps in MRO offerings in Australia, created by major offshoring campaign over the last 10 years. With our current Line Maintenance presence in all major airports in Australia, we are the single largest independent MRO player in the country. We aim to use this as a base for further development of our MRO offerings and growing together with local and international customers,” said Adrian Beirne, CEO, Heston MRO. “This year we introduce localised, customer-focused Components and Engines Management solutions, eventually growing into wider engineering and possibly light heavy maintenance within the next 24 months. We see many opportunities in Australia for a customer focused independent MRO, as the market is shaped by legacy airline-attached MROs, offering only small, non-strategic parts of their services to third parties.”
