28 February, 2019: Collins Elbit Vision Systems (CEVS), a joint venture between Collins Aerospace and Elbit Systems of America delivered its 1000th F-35 Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) System.
The award-winning F-35 HMD system broke technological barriers when it was first delivered to Lockheed Martin and the F-35 Joint programme office 10 years ago.
The system will provide pilots with unprecedented situational awareness. The pilots will also get all the information related to their mission, including airspeed, altitude, heading, integrated night vision and targeting information which will be projected onto the helmet’s visor rather than on a traditional Head-up Display. This approach significantly reduces pilot workload and increases overall mission effectiveness.
