German armed forces receives Airbus A319CJ from Lufthansa Technik AG
22 June 2019: The German armed forces have received a converted Airbus A319CJ from Lufthansa Technik AG in an official ceremony in Hamburg. The German armed forces have received this aircraft under the Treaty on Open Skies. The aircraft was handed over by Lufthansa Technik AG in the presence of Niels Annen, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office and Ursula von der Leyen, Federal Minister of Defence. The converted Airbus A319CJ will be used for missions and also for medical and conventional passenger transport.

The conversion of aircraft which was a business jet was completed on time and within budget. The Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) looked after the project.
